Mountainview Residence offers private accommodations to seniors who are cognitive and self sufficient but perhaps no longer have the energy or desire to take care of a home. This building offers the support needed to allow seniors to maintain or enhance their independent life-style with the assurance that they can always access the intimate personal touch from our healthcare professionals.

There is always professional staff on the premises in case of emergency 24 hours a day. Weight and blood pressure are monitored monthly and when the need arises, we liaison with families, physicians, LHIN and hospital staff.

Our nurses and PSWs (personal support workers) have extensive experience working with seniors who have a variety of illnesses, including: Parkinsons, diabetes, heart problems, arthritis, cancer and osteoporosis.

Meals, housekeeping, medication administration and personal laundry are just some of the included services for residents of the Residence building.

Should care needs increase personalized care packages will be offered whenever possible. When specialized care

Provided in our Care Wing is required, priority of room offerings is always given to our current residents first.

Retirement Living at its Best

Our Basic Care Service includes the following:

* Emergency response call bell system mounted in suite and bathroom
* Medication Administration*
* Supervision of oxygen therapy
* Monthly monitoring of weights and blood pressure
* Three “full service” meals
* Special diets accommodated wherever possible ( “not gluten free)”
* Annual Flu shot clinic (flu shot is mandatory)
*Daily interaction with residents to monitor general well-being and attendance at meals
* Co-ordination of Doctors & Specialists
* Palliative Care if needs can be met at Mountainview Residence as assessed by Health Services Manager
* Three meals served in the dining room and snacks in café
*Special diets accommodated (whenever possible)
*Assistance with weekly showers if requested
* First Aid
*Daily light and weekly complete housekeeping
* Linens bi-weekly & personal laundry weekly
* Organized clubs and social activities
* Group Physio as well as Physician Prescribed 1 on 1 physio

Medication & Administration

If resident is fully compliant with medication instructions and wishes to continue to administer their own medications, assistance and supervision are given with regard to proper ordering* and administration;

OR

Our nursing staff administers all medications including insulin and injectables. Medications will be ordered and packaged in a manner consistent with facility guidelines* for safe administration as approved by the RHRA.
If enhanced care service is required, available options will be discussed with the Administrator and the Health Services Manager.
*Please note that associated pharmacy costs / dressing supplies are the responsibility of the resident/responsible parties.

For a second person (related) in a private accommodation, an additional $900 is added to the monthly fee.

Note: A monthly Retirement Home Act regulatory fee is applicable. Currently $15.82

Activities and Outings for Active and Engaged Retirement Living

Life enrichment programs at Mountainview Residence help to nurture the social, emotional, physical, cognitive and spiritual needs of our residents.

We value fun and laughter and so our programs place emphasis on social interaction and the brighter side of things.

Our focus is to involve our residents in our daily scheduled programs including exercise, physiotherapy and aqua fitness, social outings, music activities, faith services, and interactive games. We hold special family celebrations throughout the year where residences can welcome and host their families in an appreciative environment.

We believe all these elements play a key role in the whole well-being of the individual.

In addition, we organize health educational events throughout the year for our residents and their families, and the community at large.
